Having always dreamed of farming, Lois (who began saving her 10 cent allowance when she was 10 to buy a horse ranch) started the hobby market garden with her youngest son Josh when he was doing junior high in home school. She has a passion for growing things and providing for the needs of others. She also enjoys making beautiful flower arrangments which led to the side business of Forget Me Not Farms Floral Design which serves in the high demand wedding florist arena. She has been involved in youth work at church for many years, and loves opening the Farm up for education to the youth, as well as fun community events like the annual Farm Dance. Her favorite part of farming ranges from seeding and planting crops, arranging flowers, landscaping the beautiful gardens in the wedding site, to harvesting all of the wonderful produce on the Farm.
Darrell and Lois moved to Whidbey Island In May of 1996. When they saw this piece of land with small red barn and vegetable garden they fell in love. Darrell is a pastor and a licensed contractor who also owns A&D Home Services. He specilizes in decks, custom tile work, remodeling and fencing. You can see photos of his work at www.aanddhomeservices.com. Some of his favorite things to do on the farm include harvesting and weeding, interacting with the community for special events, and building landscape structures like our beautiful arbors.
Stina has recently joined the Forget Me Not Farm staff. She is excited about helping expand Forget Me Not Farms Floral Design. Stina enjoys growing flowers, meeting with brides, and designing floral arrangments.
